The new Sala La Cicogna was inaugurated inside the State Hospital of the Social Security Institute, a precious environment dedicated to maternal health, the birth process and the well-being of future mothers and newborns.
In the presence of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Security Mariella Mularoni, the Captain of Castello Borgo Maggiore Barbara Bollini, the Director General of the ISS Francesco Bevere, the chaplain of the State Hospital Wladyslaw Antonczyk, the President of the San Marino Music Institute Giacomo Volpinari and his Director Fausto Giacomini, the Directors of the Obstetrics and Gynecology UOC of the ISS Miriam Farinelli and of the Pediatrics UOC Laura Viola officially presented the new room and the activities and courses that will be held inside it.
The Stork Room, located on the -1 floor of the State Hospital, in the former retirement home building with the possibility of access both from inside the structure and from the outside, was specifically designed to offer pre-birth courses and parenting support . Here, pregnant women and their families can participate in information sessions, learn childbirth preparation techniques and share experiences with other expectant mothers.
In particular, the room is dedicated to the birth process conducted by the midwives of the Obstetrics and Gynecology UOC and the pediatricians of the Paediatrics UOC. It hosts pre-natal meetings, dedicated to movement and awareness during pregnancy, the meeting with paediatrics, the baby party one month after birth with parents and babies, the post-birth meetings to support responsive parenting. It also hosts the Noi in-crescendo meeting, which is part of the birth process, conducted by the San Marino Musical Institute in collaboration with ISS pediatrics.
